Burn Ban In Effect
From October 1, 2026 -November 30, 2026 a burn ban will be in effect between the hours of 6a.m.-6p.m. daily. During this time, residents are asked to refrain from outdoor burning to help prevent the spread of fires and protect out homes, families, and community. Dry leaves, grass and other vegetation can allow fires to spread quickly, especially during windy conditions.
According to Ohio Revised Code Section 1503.18: “When a county, municipal corporation, or township has determined that conditions are such that open burning is dangerous, it may prohibit, restrict, or regulate open burning within its jurisdiction”. This code allows the local authorities to implement burn bans during periods of high fire danger such as the fall season.
To help keep the community safe,
– Do NOT burn leaves, brush or other yard debris
– AVOID any activities that could cause an outdoor fire
– Report any uncontrolled fires immediately by calling 911
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we work together to keep our community safe. Thank you for your understanding!
