Columbia Gas Project – State Road & Port Clinton Eastern

Dear Columbia Gas Customer:

We are writing to notify you that Columbia Gas and its contractor, Miller Pipeline, are set to begin a betterment project in Danbury Township. The project started the week of August 10, 2026 and is expected to last approximately 2 months, depending on weather and field conditions.

As part of this project, crews will install approximately 8,400 feet of new plastic pipe along a section of E. State Road and Port Clinton Eastern Road, between SE Catawba Road and State Route 269. This project will deliver improvements that strengthen the system and enhance its overall reliability and performance.

What to Expect
• Preconstruction work is currently underway. During this phase, you may notice utility markings and flags in yards and along the right-of-way. These markers identify underground facilities and are essential to our work. Please leave them in place until construction is complete.
• Installation of the new natural gas main is expected to begin in mid-August.

Traffic and Restoration
Motorists and residents may experience temporary congestion in active work areas. Traffic control personnel will be on-site as needed to help maintain safe travel through the construction zone. Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways throughout the project.

Areas affected by construction will receive temporary restoration as work progresses to maintain safety and accessibility. Permanent restoration, including final grading and landscaping repairs where applicable, will be completed as the project nears completion.

Since this work involves installing new gas main, some residents may ask about connecting to the natural gas system. We are not actively promoting new customer connections as part of this project, but if residents have questions about that, please direct all questions to Columbia Gas directly.
