America 250 July 4th Parade
Lakeside, Marblehead & Danbury Township Fourth of July Float Parade:
As part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250 the communities of Marblehead, Danbury Township, and Lakeside are coming together for the first time for the Fourth of July parade. This historic year marks 250 years of American independence. In that spirit, this expanded parade brings neighbors, families, and visitors together.
Parade Details
- Date: Saturday, July 4
- Start Time: 9:30 a.m.
- Starting Location: James Park in Marblehead
- Ending Location: West side of Lakeside at the Second Street Gate
- Bike Parade begins at 10 a.m. on Second Street in Lakeside
Parade Route
The parade will begin at James Park and proceed west on Prairie Street, turn left onto Stone Street, right onto Elliott Street, and continue along Harsh Road before entering Lakeside through the Second Street Gate.
Where to Watch
Spectators are encouraged to line the entire parade route. Great viewing areas include:
- James Park (kickoff energy and opening ceremonies feel)
- Along Harsh Road (expanded space and easy access)
- Entry into Lakeside at the Second Street Gate
Bring chairs, gather with neighbors, and enjoy the celebration from wherever you are along the route.
Parking & Arrival Tips
- Plan to arrive early for the best viewing locations.
- Streets along the parade route will begin closing prior to the 9:30 a.m. start in James Park.
- Consider walking or biking to your viewing spot when possible.

Community members, families, businesses, and organizations from across the peninsula are invited to participate.
Eligible entries include:
- Floats
- Golf carts
- Bicycles
- Vehicles
- Walking groups
- Local organizations and businesses
Individuals must complete the Fourth of July Parade form to participate. This year, parade participants are encouraged to reflect the spirit of America 250. Please note: All parade entries will be reviewed to ensure a family-friendly experience. Entries that do not align with this standard may not be accepted. Floats containing political content or offensive subject matter will not be permitted to participate in the parade.
